OFFICIAL SPECS

Chabad Lubavitch has spread Jewish awareness to all Jews whether male or female, old or young since the 18th century. It sprang from the small white Russian town named of Lubavitch (lit.: City of Love) from the teachings of Rabbi Schneur Zalman, a spiritual heir to the Baal Shem Tov. Chabad has grown today to boast more than 3500 branches. "Chabad Houses" can be found in every part of the world such as, Tasmania, Russia, Hawaii, and Bangkok striving in each one of those places to do everything it can to help Jews be Jewish and provide the Jewish community with all their religious needs.

The word Chabad is an acronym for Chochmah, Binah, Daas, which means wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. The idea is to turn intellect to action. Simply put: "don't just think it, do it". Learn about your Judaism, and live your Judaism.

Chabad does not use labels. "A Jew is a Jew is a Jew - Period." We have one Torah, , we have one G-d, and we are one people. Chabad endeavors to reach out to every Jew regardless of affiliation or background, reviving the sparks of Jewish consciousness embedded in the heart and mind of every Jewish person.
